Some losses around the rims and a bit of surface cracking as is typically the case with old examples like this

Plus a small light spot in the stone along the top edge evincing a blow hole

The surface it is the perfect sort of nude color

and one small loss to interior edge of tail feathers visible just if viewed directly from above or below

include the European Turtle Dove (now endangered)

I believe these are strands of algae, and that the photograph, signed on reverse, dates to the 1940s or so. 4 7 8" x 4 7 8". Silver gelatin print, matte paper, nice rich tonality, very good condition.
