Carved Little Puzzle Cross Whimsy brown and black and there is good relief

and there is good relief to the carving

I do wonder if it was designed as a tool to be used for anything else

with some age for sure

And then this jaunty

but was done in the 1930s by Helen Wagner Malta (1912-1975)

Carved Little Puzzle Cross Whimsy brown and black and there is good reliefThis very sweet little hand carved puzzle cross is harder than it looks; I removed one piece and it quickly came apart in my hand, requiring the assistance of my smart mother to put it back together! I believe it is quite old and made of walnut, and a great little object whether or not one touches it! 2" x 2" x 2" and in very good antique (I do believe) condition, with a nice patina.
