The mana cost is too high to make it reli-able, but it will bail out both opening hands and complex, extremely late game stall outs at various times
Basically, this means that unless you are playing item cards like Switch or Escape Rope, there is nothing you can do if a useless Pokmon is stuck on the active spot, even if it has zero retreat cost
