Minimum effective treatment duration General rule: 8-12 weeks minimum Shorter than 8 weeks: Unlikely to see full benefits 12 weeks: Most people achieve significant results Less than 4 weeks: Waste of time and money Why minimum matters: Collagen accumulation is gradual Skin turnover takes 28-40 days Need multiple turnover cycles for visible change Short trials lead to disappointment and quitting Minimum by goal: Common mistake: Trying GHK-Cu for 2-4 weeks Seeing no results (too soon) Concluding "it doesn't work" Quitting before benefits appear Setting expectations: Commit to minimum 12 weeks Plan to evaluate at 12-week mark Decide whether to continue or transition to maintenance Don't make judgments before 8 weeks Standard anti-aging protocol: 12-16 weeks intensive Typical first-time protocol: Weeks 1-12: Intensive phase Dose: 1-2mg per injection Frequency: 3-5x weekly Total weekly: 3-10mg Route: Subcutaneous injection Topical: Optional addition (1-2% serum daily) Expected investment: 50mg vial lasts 5-10 weeks (depending on dose/frequency) Need 1-2 vials for 12-week protocol Cost: $160-300 total (research peptides) Time: 12 weeks commitment Week-by-week protocol example: After 12-16 weeks: Evaluate results If satisfied: Transition to maintenance If want more: Continue intensive 4-8 more weeks If plateaued: Switch to maintenance dosing Use our peptide calculator and peptide cost calculator at SeekPeptides to plan protocols
