OIL ON CANVAS STILL LIFE BY ADOLFO RUIZ ABASCAL (SPAIN) ART006 Design Year – 1954A still life on heavily textured canvas by Spanish artist and author ADOLFO RUIZ ABASCAL (1929 2012). The homely subject features fruit, a basket, and a draped white cloth arranged on a stone ledge. The traditional composition is informed by Cubist influence; the soft lighting produces realistic three dimensional effects. Not readily identifiable to us, the fruit in and around the basket may include pomegranates and plums or some other stone fruits
